Our nationally recognised Sports Law team provides a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary service advising on all aspects of sports governance, regulation, and dispute resolution. We advise sporting organisations, clubs, athletes, and coaches on matters including dispute resolution, risk and insurance, commercial contracts, employment, health and safety, and policy development.

Delivering Practical and Strategic Advice

Our team has extensive expertise in anti-doping regulation, including compliance with the Sport Ireland Anti-Doping Rules and the WADA Code. We provide urgent advice in cases involving potential Anti-Doping Rule Violations or provisional suspensions, and assist with Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) applications and appeals. We also support sporting bodies in developing robust anti-doping policies, education programmes, and crisis-management strategies to promote fairness, transparency, and integrity in sport.

SERVICES / CORPORATE

John Carroll, who heads our Sports Law Department, serves as a Disciplinary Officer with the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU), the United Rugby Championship (URC), and European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR). In this role, he chairs Disciplinary Committees tasked with adjudicating on player conduct and disciplinary matters.
